Cinema Club late update for Friday 15th December - Bonus short film!

In additon to presenting the all time classic for our Christmas season event, the original The Ladykillers, we are thrilled to showcase an award-winning short film, The Walker, filmed on Dartmoor and created by a local cinematographer, 

The Walker

An elderly woman living on Dartmoor finds herself reconnecting with the world after the wind blows away her hat.

Meet “The Unholy Five"...The Most Befuddled Set of Assorted Thugs That Ever Fouled Up a Million Dollar Bank Robbery!! Mrs. Wilberforce (Katie Johnson) likes to report suspicious behaviour to the police. Unaware of her reputation, the dapper thief Professor Marcus (Alec Guinness) rents rooms in the elderly widow's home for himself and his band of cohorts. Posing as a string quintet, the thieves pull off a bank robbery, but slip up in front of the old woman as they try to escape. Agreed that they need to murder her, the bumbling crooks wind up double-crossing each other and slowly killing themselves off. Originally released in 1955 film has been digitally remastered and is presented in full Technicolor.

Tickets are priced at £7.50 and include a mince pie! Please note tickets are non-refundable. There are only a limited number of tickets available and are released on a first -come first served basis with Paradiso Cinema Club members having early access.

We're inviting everyone to wear their best Christmas jumpers to this months film night! 

Doors at Wickham Hall will open at 18.45 with the film starting at 19.30.  Drinks (licensed bar) and light snacks will be available to purchase. There will be an intermission for refreshments and leg stretching.

Please note there is limited on street parking at the venue and we recommend that you park at the Riverside car park - a short 5-10 minute walk. Wickham Hall is a wonderful venue for our Cinema Club nights but is not the purpose built cinema that we will have at Paradiso  - you may wish to bring a cushion with you on the night to improve the seat comfort!
